A few things about me…

Hi! I’m Josephine, a lawyer and researcher, but first and foremost, a person who is endlessly fascinated by words and ideas.

I always joke that the only thing I’m truly good at is reading and writing. It’s not much of a joke. Everything I do, my research, the legal work, the late-night rabbit holes, all trace back to a love of language and a need to make sense of the world through it. I love this quote by Ursula K. Le Guin: “words are my matter.” I feel that deeply.

My work lives at the intersection of technology, law, and human rights in Africa. I care about who gets to participate in the digital world, who gets protected, and who gets left behind. These questions keep me busy, and honestly, they keep me up at night too.

When I’m not working, I’m reading, knitting, cooking, thinking about storytelling, or looking for the next idea worth writing about.
